In terms of chemical corrosion resistance, both have good chemical corrosion resistance and can resist the erosion of various components in the gas and chemicals in the soil. However, over long-term use, HDPE may become more stable in certain extreme chemical environments.
In terms of connection methods, both MDPE gas pipes and HDPE gas pipes can use hot melt connection and electrofusion connection methods, but due to differences in material properties, the connection process parameters and requirements may be different. The connection of HDPE gas pipe may require higher temperatures and pressures to ensure the quality and sealing of the connection.
In terms of application scenarios, HDPE gas pipes are often used in large-scale urban gas transmission pipeline networks because their high strength and good pressure resistance can meet the needs of long-distance and large-flow gas transmission. MDPE gas pipes are more suitable for some medium and small-scale gas distribution systems, such as gas pipe networks within residential communities, or used in areas with complex terrain and harsh construction conditions.
In addition, from a cost perspective, the raw material cost of HDPE gas pipe is relatively high, while the cost of MDPE gas pipe is relatively low. However, in practical applications, the choice of which pipe material cannot be based solely on cost, but also requires comprehensive consideration of factors such as the specific requirements of the project, construction conditions, and subsequent maintenance costs.
