PVC-O Pipes introduction:

PVC-O (oriented polyvinyl chloride) pipes have gained popularity in various industries due to their exceptional properties and versatility. This article aims to explore the diverse applications of PVC-O pipes and shed light on their benefits.

PVC-O Pipes application:

1. Cable Protection:

PVC-O pipes serve as protective conduits for electrical cables. Their non-conductive properties shield cables from external factors like moisture, sunlight, and physical damage. This application is crucial in infrastructure projects and underground cable installations.
2.
Water Supply Systems:

PVC-O pipes are extensively used in water supply networks. Their high resistance to pressure, corrosion, and abrasion makes them ideal for both urban and rural water distribution systems. These pipes ensure reliable and long-lasting performance, reducing maintenance costs and water loss.

.Industrial Pipelines:

Industries rely on PVC-O pipes for transporting various fluids, including chemicals, gases, and slurries. The pipes' resistance to corrosion, abrasion, and internal pressure guarantees safe and efficient transmission, contributing to enhanced productivity.

What advantage dose the pvc-o pipe have?

1.Corrosion-resistant:

Corrosion is the result of interactions between biological, physical, and chemical processes. PVC-O water pipes are naturally corrosion-resistant and unaffected by moisture, soil acidity, and electrical conductivity. They are not sensitive to electrolytes and do not require any corrosion protection. However, internal corrosion protection for traditional metal pipes is difficult to achieve, and internal linings can easily peel off during transportation, installation, and impact, leading to corrosion and thinning or puncturing of the pipe wall, increasing maintenance and repair costs and significantly reducing the pipe's lifespan. In areas with shallow groundwater or high corrosion levels, additional corrosion protection must be applied.

2.large water delivery capacity, and low operating energy consumption.

The roughness coefficient n value of PVC-O water supply pipe is 0.008-0.009, which is smaller than the n value of sand lining pipe materials (0.011-0.012), resulting in better hydraulic conditions. Compared with the same specifications of traditional pipelines, PVC-O water supply pipes have lower head losses along the way, higher downstream water pressure; the water supply capacity is 30-40% higher, and smaller diameter PVC-O water supply pipes can replace larger diameter traditional pipelines; under the same downstream working pressure, the pump at the pipehead can be equipped with a lower head, the pipe material, fittings and pipeline structures can be designed at a lower pressure, thereby reducing the initial investment of the project and improving the long-term safety of the pipeline.

3.The inner wall is smooth and does not scale.

As a hydraulic smooth pipe, it can suppress the accumulation of sludge in the pipe and eliminate the phenomenon of nodules and scaling in the water supply main pipe. Metal pipes tend to constrict or even block over time, affecting the water flow in the pipe.

4.Exceptional Toughness

The special layered structure will prevent cracks from passing through the material, and the crack expansion is effectively suppressed as the stress concentration is reduced as the cracks pass through each layer. This can greatly reduce the damage and destruction of the pipe material during transportation, handling, and backfilling, reducing engineering risks.

5.Good anti-water hammer performance

A smaller modulus of elasticity helps reduce the damage to the pipeline caused by pressure surges during water network operation, reducing the likelihood of burst pipes when the network is turned on or off; at the same time, it provides protection for various components of the water network during operation, improving the long-term safety of water supply pipelines.

6.Long Service Life

PVC-O water pipes can be buried and have a service life of at least 50 years. After the pipes are laid, they can reduce the need for replacement and laying of traditional pipes when their service life expires. The theoretical service life of traditional pipes is not more than 30 years, and it will be further reduced if they are installed in areas with acid, alkali, salt or shallow groundwater layers.

7.The pressure rating is comprehensive.

PVC-O water pipes have nominal pressures of 1.0 MPa, 1.25 MPa, 1.6 MPa, 2.0 MPa, and 2.5 MPa, and different pressure ratings can be selected according to the pressure distribution of the pipeline to reduce waste.
